Inter Milan has defeated Neftchi Baku PFC in a Group H match of the UEFA Europa League played at Tofiq Bahramov Stadium on Thursday. Milan won the match with ease by a profound margin of 3-1. This was the first victory for Milan in the ongoing Europa League.

Milan wasn’t able to secure victory in its first match of the tournament against FK Rubin Kazan. That match had finished without any result and Milan had got only one point. But, in the second match, the Milan team looked determined and pulled off the victory without having much difficulty.

The Neftchi team was also playing in its second match of the tournament. In its first match against Partizan Belgrade, they had managed to gather just one point as that match had ended in a goalless draw. The performance of the Neftchi team deteriorated in the second match and the team never looked in control.

More than 31,000 Neftchi supporters had turned up to watch their team play against Milan, but, they would not have been happy with the end result of the match.

Inter Milan took the lead in the 10th minute of the match. Coutinho was the one who opened the scoring for Milan. The goal was set up by Fredy Guarin.

The Milan players kept attacking and the score became 2-0 in the favour of Milan in the 30th minute. It was Fredy Guarin again who assisted the goal by giving a brilliant cross to Joel Obi and the Nigerian didn’t have any difficulty in taking advantage of that chance. He easily deflected the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
Just three minutes before the half time break, Neftchi got trailed by 0-3 when Marko Lavaja found the net with a fantastic header.

Nicolas Canales scored the one and only goal for Neftchi in the 53rd minute, but, that was not enough to make a difference. Neftchi needed two more goals to make a comeback in the match, but, that didn’t happen and Milan won the match.

Inter Milan’s next match will be a Serie A encounter against AC Milan on Sunday.
