Mateo Kovacic says that he will not return to Inter Milan

Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic says that he will not return to Inter Milan as long as the club retain the services of manager Roberto Mancini.

In the past, Mancini has divided opinions amongst players with many names like Yaya Touré willing to do anything to play for the Italian. There have also been names like Kovacic, who have despised the sight of the Italian. Even though Kovacic has had only limited first-team opportunities since his move to Real Madrid, the midfielder is not thinking about a return to the club where he had spent almost 3 years.

The last eight months of his spell at Inter was a difficult time since he did not get along well with Mancini. He had joined Madrid for € 30 million in the hope of establishing himself as a regular first team player under the management of Carlo Ancelotti. The recent managerial changes at Madrid has resulted in Kovacic being the scapegoat. The Croatian midfielder featured in 34 games in his first season at the club and scored only one goal. However, it is widely believed that new manager Zinedine Zidane will bring some changes in this position over the summer. Further, midfielder needs to be playing regularly at 22 years of age.

"I will not return with Mancini on the bench. I had a strange relationship with him, it's a private thing and there's no need to talk about it. You never know what will happen in the future, I don't know what will happen,” said the Madrid midfielder when asked about the possibility of returning to Inter Milan in the summer. There is a lot of talk about the Italian outfit signing a couple of midfielders after having once again failed to qualify for the Champions League as a result of finishing outside the top three.
