SNEIJDER ISSUE MUST BE CONCLUDED

The Inter Milan manager Andrea Stramaccioni has said that he hopes that the situation surrounding the midfielder Wesley Sneijder is resolved as soon as possible. The Dutch midfielder said just ahead of the match with Parma that he is fully fit to take part in the match.

He has just spent a small amount of time on the injury tables. However, the sporting director of the club has revealed that Wesley Sneijder will not be involved in the matches until he agrees a contract that will see him earn lower wages. It is no secret that the Dutchman is one of the higher earning players within the squad.

However, faced with the financial fair play regulations and mounting debts, the club are looking to reduce the wage bill. The enormous wages of the Dutchman has been viewed as one of the main stumbling blocks in complying to the financial fair play regulations. As a result, the sporting director promised that Sneijder will not be part of the matches until he signs new contract, but the manager Andrea Stramaccioni has distanced himself from the speculation by saying that he hopes that any problem is resolved as soon as possible. He has also said that he wants the 28-year-old to stay at the club.

"Obviously, I hope the situation can be resolved as soon as possible. I speak daily with both Wesley, and with the president. So I know the situation. I think the issue is simpler than people may think. Over the summer the club decided to have some very clear guidelines that we wanted to use throughout the transfer campaign. Right now my position as the coach is not to select him for the good of the club," said the Inter Milan manager, who has helped the club move just four points within leaders Juventus.
